I have always liked Clean & Clear products. I loved the Clean & Clear Active Clear Pimple Clearing Cleanser and recommended it to friends and family who had their fair share of acne woes.
Late last year, they stopped selling the pimple clearing cleanser. Don’t worry, it was not discontinued. Johnson & Johnson simply repackaged their anti-acne cleanser so instead of the blue and white packaging, their anti-pimple cleansers now come in blue and gray tubes. And oh, they tweaked the name a bit; it’s now called Clean & Clear Active Clear Acne Clearing Cleanser. Still a mouthful.
Also, they added more products to their anti-acne line. I would’ve wanted to buy everything when I spotted the new items at the supermarket but I was working on a tight budget so I just picked a few. I bought the Blackhead Eraser Scrub, Active Clear Speed Clearing Gel, and the Deep Cleaning Astringent.
Well, the Blackhead Eraser Scrub is just an average scrub. It’s medicated but I didn’t find it effective. I guess the you’ll-have-fewer-blackheads-in-just-two-days promise is just too good to be true. Until I can find a blackhead eraser scrub that works, I’m sticking to my trusty St. Ives Apricot Scrub.
The Deep Cleaning Astringent and the Active Clear Speed Clearing Gel, on the other hand, are great products. I chose the astringent in blue (for sensitive skin types) and I love the fact that it doesn’t sting although it is medicated with salicylic acid.
And the Active Clear Speed Clearing Gel? Well, it is a must-have for me. I just apply a small amount on the occasional zit and the redness and inflammation are reduced in a matter of hours. I seldom get those painful cystic pimples because the Active Clear Speed Clearing Gel spot treats zits before they mutate into something hideous.
Just a reminder, sweeties. Clean & Clear anti-acne products contain salicylic acid so if you have experienced adverse reactions to products containing salicylic acid before, I don’t think the skin care products mentioned above are for you. Also, I’ll be updating this post with the retail prices in the next few days. I know I prepared a list somewhere but I can’t seem to find it. Silly me.
